The 1949 Swiss Grand Prix was a Grande Épreuves, held on July 3. The race was won by Alberto Ascari in a Ferrari, after polesitter and early leader Giuseppe Farina's Maserati retired. Ascari's teammate, Luigi Villoresi, finished second ahead of Raymond Sommer in a Talbot-Lago-Talbot.
