The 1949 Italian Grand Prix was a Grand Epreuve, held on September 11. The race was won by polesitter Alberto Ascari in a Ferrari, who finished a lap ahead of second place Philippe Étancelin in a Talbot-Lago-Talbot and three laps ahead of Prince Bira's Maserati in third.
