The 1936 Hungarian Grand Prix was a pre-war race, run at Népliget Park in the heart of Budapest on June 21. The race was won by Tazio Nuvolari in an Alfa Romeo, upsetting the heavily favored German teams. Bernd Rosemeyer and Achille Varzi finished second and third in Auto Unions, Rosemeyer 14.2 seconds back and Varzi two laps down.
