The 1925 French Grand Prix was held on July 26, at the brand new Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry, south of Paris. The race was marred by the fatal accident of Antonio Ascari in an Alfa Romeo while leading the race on lap 22. After the other two Alfas in the race were withdrawn, the Delage team of Robert Benoist/Albert Divo and Louis Wagner/Paul Torchy cruised to an easy victory. Guilio Masetti in a Sunbeam finished third.
